民初北京的通俗教育与大众娱乐

摘要：
通俗教育是晚清新政时期倡导开民智、立新民的产物，通俗教育不仅被时人赋予"普及教育"的重任，还具有移风易俗、改良社会风气、开通社会文明之功效。因此，通俗教育的推行多立足于底层社会，注重与戏曲、小说、演讲等大众娱乐方式相结合，以达到润物无声之功效。这些通俗教育活动虽然没有达到最初设想之成绩，但仍然在一定程度上对底层民众起到了思想启蒙、普及现代社会文化知识、改良社会风气等作用。
The Beijing Popular Education and Popular Entertainments in the Early Republic of China

Abstract:
Popular education was a product of "improving people's intelligence" and "building new people" policies in the new policy of the late Qing Dynasty.Popular education was regarded not only with the important role of popularizing education,but also with the function of changing habits and customs,improving the social atmosphere and opening the effectiveness of social civilization.Therefore,the implementation of popular education is often based on the bottom of the society,focusing on the combination with drama,novel,speech and other public entertainments in order to achieve the widespread influence.Although these popular education activities did not reach the results initially conceived,it still to some extent played the roles of ideologically enlightening the common people,popularizing modern social and cultural knowledge,and improving the social atmosphere.
