黄宗智的《华北的小农经济与社会变迁》是一部中国乡村社会经济史研究领域的经典性著作,在许多方面值得学习和分析。在问题意识上,该书将理论、材料与概念融为一体,发现并挖掘材料中展现的"重要问题";在文本与结构上,该书有着明确的中心论点和次级论点,完整实现了其问题意识的展开,挖掘了史料中展现的"实践逻辑";在研究视野方面,该书立足于华北区域,但眼光和视野则放眼全国,并直指乡村社会经济史的关键和核心问题。当然,本书也存在一些不足和缺陷,但丝毫不影响其方法论的价值。
The Broad Vision of Regional History——The Methodology of Peasant Economy and Social Change in North China

Abstract:
Philip C. C. Huang's Peasant Economy and Social Change in North China is a classic book of China's rural areas of social and economic history. The book is well worth studying and analyzing in many aspects.On the problem consciousness, the book integrates theories, materials, and concepts, finding and excavating the "important issues" showed in the materials. For the text and structure, the book has a clear central argument and the sub-arguments, which completely expands the problem awareness and mines the "practical logic" in historical data. As to the research field of vision, the book is based on North China region, but takes a great view of the whole country, pointing to the key and core issues of economic history of rural society. Of course, the book also has some deficiencies and defects, while this does not affect the value of its methodology.
